I am sharing this on the blog for two reasons:
1. This is a perfect example of how we can use physical fitness to help others and give hope. We all have an opportunity to take what we have been given and share it with others. I do not know if Emi was thinking about her ride as a God-given gift, but I do know that she felt compelled to do something- and she chose to do the thing that she COULD do instead of focusing on the things she could not! Thank you, Emi, for your efforts!
2. The second reason I share this is because the money raised by this effort went to MentorCONNECT, the first global eating disorders community and the place where I am a volunteer mentor to those seeking recovery from eating disorders. For more information about MentorCONNECT, go to www.mentorconnect-ed.org
As we enjoy this season of Advent and prepare to receive the ultimate gift of God’s Son, I encourage all of you to think of other gifts that God has given to you- perhaps they are physical fitness related, perhaps not. But we all have gifts…let’s “re-gift” this year by sharing our God-given blessings, gifts, and talents with others! By moving in our faith in this way, we stay CENTERED on the CORE of all gifts—Christ.
