CORErecovery: Out of the Valley- I get by with a little help from my friends

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Today’s post is simple.  You are not alone.  God is always with us, yes, but that’s not it!   He also calls us to reach out and love, support, and encourage each other.  He saves us, comforts us, and heals us.  Then, one day when we are stronger, we go and do likewise…sharing the same comfort that we have experienced.

While I was doing my counseling in recovery, I remember having the distinct impression that God was telling me to “remember this”.  I knew that one day He would call me to share my experiences, the struggles and the hope, with others.  So I kept journals, held on to all I could, and constantly strive to “remember” as I speak out about my past with my eating disorder and the comfort I felt as God lead me through recovery.

I am not the only one.  There are many that have taken what was meant to harm them and use it for God’s glory.  My friend, Constance Rhodes, is one of those people.  She created Findingbalance as a source of hope to those who struggle with body image and eating issues.  Findingbalance has recently announced a resource made especially for the holiday season.  Check out this great program that is not meant to help you just survive the holidays, but THRIVE and enjoy them!  There are many great speakers and facilitators that have a passion for sharing their personal experiences to help you and others who are committed to helping us all learn more about ourselves, our faith, and how to navigate the world around us in FREEDOM instead of FEAR!  Please join me for this fantastic program that will equip, encourage, and empower you to EMBRACE your holiday time this year!  Click on the image below to find out more:
