Hope means hoping when things are hopeless, or it is no virtue at all… As long as matters are really hopeful, hope is mere flattery or platitude; it is only when everything is hopeless that hope begins to be a strength.
When we see no hope, that is when hope makes itself the most known. For me, it is in the times of the most despair that I have found hope where there was none. How is this possible? How can there be hope when there is no hope?
There is a verse in the Bible that talks about this kind of hope. Romans 8: 24-25 says, “But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for patiently.”
